Legal status
Gaming in Kiribati is governed by the Gaming and Lotteries Act 1988 (No. 6 of 1988), which controls gaming and lotteries and has not been amended to cover online gambling. Kiribati issues no online betting licences, and 1xBet is not licensed there. Secondary sources describe offshore online betting as an unregulated grey area. No primary source confirmed whether residents may lawfully use foreign bookmakers, and no blocking of 1xBet was reported.

Sport and betting in Kiribati
Kiribati has a population of about 130,000 spread across atolls, internet access is limited and costly, and a local betting industry barely exists. Weightlifter David Katoatau, a Commonwealth Games champion, is the country's best-known athlete.
What this means for you
- Do not use VPNs or “mirror” sites to get around the law — accounts opened that way can be closed and winnings withheld, and you may break local law.
- You would have no local regulator to complain to if something went wrong.
- If betting is legal in your country, use operators licensed by your national regulator.
