1xBet in Botswana: is it legal and does 1x_529930 work?

Legal status

Gambling is regulated under the Gambling Act by the Gambling Authority, which began licensing online betting in February 2025 and requires operators to meet local conditions such as having offices in the country. In March 2025 the Authority publicly identified Bet365, Forzza, 1XBET and Betwinners as non-compliant, illegal platforms. Residents are urged to check an operator's licence on the Authority's site before paying.

Because of this, 1x_529930 Bonus Desk does not promote 1xBet in Botswana: there are no sign-up instructions or bonus offers for Botswana on this site, and our partner link does not send visitors from Botswana to 1xBet.

Sport and betting in Botswana

Since online licensing began in February 2025, licensed platforms have reported around 1.5 million accounts, and active users of illegal sites reportedly fell from over 500,000 to about 40,000. The licensed online market is small, with only a handful of approved brands.

What this means for you

• Do not use VPNs or “mirror” sites to get around the law — accounts opened that way can be closed and winnings withheld, and you may break local law.
• You would have no local regulator to complain to if something went wrong.
• If betting is legal in your country, use operators licensed by your national regulator.
